When you see “RRPr” after my name, that stands for Registered Reflexology Practitioner. I'm certified and a registered member in good standing with the RRCO, the council that registers reflexologists in our province. I first became a reflexologist in 2005.

What reflexology can do for you
Reflexology is a gentle, natural therapy similar to massage. I apply careful pressure to specific points on your feet, and sometimes your hands or ears, that link to the organs, glands, and different parts of your body.
The theory is simple: those points, called reflexes, map to the body the way a chart maps a country. When I press the areas on your feet that match an organ, it nudges that part of your body to settle and rebalance.
People have valued this therapy throughout history. Foot and hand treatments even appear in an Egyptian tomb painting from around 2330 BC. Today, reflexology is a popular complementary therapy. Clients come to me because reflexology can help with:

Reflexology is a natural way to manage pain, and people living with ongoing pain often fold it into their care. Many clients first come to me for pain they’ve carried for years. Guelph Reflexology Services
Many extended health plans cover reflexology when a Registered Reflexology Practitioner provides it. I give you a detailed receipt after every session showing my name, RRPr designation, and RRCO registration number, which is what insurers usually need for a claim.

My signature treatment and the most common type of therapy. Sixty minutes of gentle massage on the reflexes of your feet to support your whole body and improve how you feel day to day. Your feet do a lot for you, and this is an hour that gives back.

Here I use gentle pressure, promoting relaxation and healing, with the same benefits. Even better, there’s no need to take your shoes off! Hand reflexology is good fit for sensitive feet, a foot injury, or even if you'd just rather I don’t touch your feet.

What to expect on your first visit
Your first appointment is 75 minutes, so we can get to know each other. I'll ask about your health, your goals, and what’s going on in your life. From there, regular treatments come in two lengths, 60 or 90 minutes, and you can choose either when you book.
When you come in for your appointment, you’ll relax on a padded table while I gently massage your feet, one foot at a time; the other stays wrapped in a warm towel for your comfort.
Your feet are the focus, and nothing else (unless, of course, you’ve booked a session for your hands).
The whole session is about promoting relaxation, so I move slowly, applying pressure to each reflex with a touch that’s meant to be firm but never painful or uncomfortable. You can expect to keep your clothes on, with just your shoes and socks off for foot reflexology.
Most people sink into deep relaxation by the end of the treatment, and some fall asleep, which I take as the best compliment you can give me.

Reflexology works on a simple principle. Specific points on your feet, hands, and ears, called reflexes, connect to the organs, glands, and other parts of your body. Those reflexes map to parts and organs deeper in the body, too.
When I’m applying pressure to certain areas of the foot, your nervous system shifts into “rest and digest” mode, where the body can calm down and heal.
A session can also improve circulation, so blood and oxygen reach your cells and your body clears what it doesn’t need. It sets up a feedback loop, so your brain and body talk to each other. A spot on your big toe, for instance, links to your head and brain.

In theory, they're related, but massage and reflexology are not the same. A massage therapist focuses on the muscles and soft tissue all over your body. In reflexology, I work only on your feet and hands, using reflex points that connect to other parts of you. Unlike a full-body massage, this therapy treats only certain parts of your body, and complements other care, whether that's massage, physiotherapy, or treatment from your family doctor. If you already get massage treatments or physiotherapy, think of reflexology as one more way to support your health.

Every body responds differently, and reflexology is a complementary therapy rather than a cure, so I won't promise specific results.
That said, clients often arrive with stress, anxiety, and trouble sleeping. Reflexology may assist with headaches and sinus issues, and many people use it to ease chronic conditions such as back pain and everyday aches and pain.
It's also believed to support digestive health, hormonal balance, and immunity, and to help improve sleep, mood, and energy.
It may improve circulation, assist with pain relief, and improve digestion, and can help you recover more gently from injury.

Foot reflexology is gentle, but it isn’t right for every pair of feet. If you have diabetes, varicose veins, sores, or an infection on your feet, or you’re recovering from a foot injury or surgery, foot pressure may not be the best idea.
Hand reflexology gives you the same benefits without anyone touching your feet, so we would simply switch.
If you have any health issues or you’re unsure, check with your doctor first, and tell me, so I can adapt your treatment.

Some clients see me for reflexology while they're going through IVF or other fertility treatments. I want to be honest with you: reflexology can't influence whether treatment succeeds, and I’d never claim otherwise.
What reflexology can do is give you an hour of deep relaxation during a tense, uncertain time, which many women find steadying.

People ask whether reflexology can help with cortisol because they’ve read that stress hormones climb when we’re run down.
I can’t measure your cortisol or promise that reflexology will change it.
What I can say is that a session eases your body into that “rest and digest” state, and the deep relaxation most clients feel is something they associate with feeling calmer.
If lowering day-to-day stress is part of your lifestyle goals, reflexology can be a soothing piece of the picture.

That depends on you. Some clients see me for a reflexology treatment every week while they’re tackling something specific; others come once a month to stay balanced. We’ll settle on a treatment rhythm that fits your life. Reflexology isn’t like physiotherapy, where you try to heal a specific injury; the benefits of my treatments tend to add up, so a regular appointment often does more than the occasional one, and you feel better and better with regular visits.
