Fergus loves Guelph Reflexology, Too!
I'm not in Fergus. I'm about 25 minutes south, at 15 Surrey St W in Guelph.
But if you’ve been searching for reflexology in Fergus and only finding massage therapy clinics that offer reflexology as a side service, there’s a better way.
Plenty of satisfied clients make the trip from Fergus, Elora, and across Centre Wellington because they feel a dedicated Registered Reflexologist practitioner is worth the drive.
Why see a Registered Reflexologist?
The letters after my name, RRPr, stand for Registered Reflexology Practitioner. That means I’m certified by the Reflexology Registration Council of Ontario (RRCO) and a registered member in good standing, with training that began in 2005. The designation is recognized across Canada and by many insurance companies.
Reflexology is my passion and the only therapy I practice. As the owner of Guelph Reflexology, I keep every session unhurried, using techniques I’ve refined over 20 years, with an emphasis on what your body needs that day.
What reflexology can do for you
Reflexology is a gentle, natural, non-invasive therapy that uses no drugs or chemicals. In a reflexology treatment, I apply careful thumb and finger pressure to points on your feet (or hands) that correspond to your organs and body systems, helping your nervous system settle and creating the conditions for your body to find its own balance.
Working these reflexes triggers the release of endorphins, your body's feel-good messengers, and supports blood flow and lymphatic drainage.
Clients come to me hoping to:
Less stress and anxiety
Relief from pain, including headaches and back pain
Better sleep and improved digestion
Healthier circulation
Immune support
Emotional release
Better wellbeing
Reflexology is a natural way to manage pain, and people living with ongoing discomfort often fold it into their care. Many clients first come to me for pain they’ve carried for years.
However, you should know I don’t diagnose or treat medical conditions. This gentle therapy works alongside your regular healthcare, like massage or physiotherapy, never instead of it.
Reflexology is a complementary therapy with a real place in wellness and prevention. It works alongside your healthcare team, never instead of it, and I don't diagnose or treat medical conditions. Learn more about reflexology.
Guelph Reflexology Services
Many extended health plans cover the services of a Registered Reflexology Practitioner. After every session, I provide a detailed receipt showing my name, RRPr designation, and RRCO registration number, which is what insurers usually ask for.
Coverage may vary with your plan, so check yours before you visit.
-
My signature treatment. Sixty minutes of focused pressure on the reflexes of your feet, designed to support your whole body.
-
The same relaxation and benefits with your shoes on. A good choice for ticklish or sensitive feet, foot conditions, or if you'd rather I work on your hands.
-
Gentle, adapted sessions I offer to expectant mothers, new moms, and mamas with little ones in tow.
What to expect on your first visit
Your first appointment runs 75 minutes because I want to learn about you before we begin: your health, your goals, and what's been going on lately. Regular sessions after that are 60 or 90 minutes, whichever suits you.
Then you'll relax on a comfortable padded table while I work on one foot at a time, keeping the other tucked in a warm towel. I move slowly, applying pressure with a technique that's firm yet never painful (far gentler than deep-tissue work), so you can properly unwind. Clothes stay on; just slip off your shoes and socks.
Most people melt into deep relaxation, and a few drift off to sleep, which is honestly my favourite kind of feedback.

Questions about reflexology Fergus clients ask me
-
No, though people mix them up all the time. A registered massage therapist (RMT) works on muscles and soft tissue across your whole body. RMTs assess physical dysfunction and use techniques like Swedish and deep tissue massage to restore physical function. An RMT's massage therapy, especially deep tissue massage, digs into the muscle itself; reflexology reaches the whole body through the feet and hands, using reflex points that connect to organs and systems elsewhere. Lots of my clients also see a registered massage therapist or an osteopath, and that's great. Massage therapy and reflexology complement each other, and your RMT and I make a good team.
-
No. Some wellness clinics provide a variety of treatments under one roof: Swedish massage to promote relaxation, deep tissue massage for stubborn knots in the muscles, hot stone massage, cupping, acupuncture, osteopathy, even reiki. Those are worthwhile therapies, and I'm glad they exist. I've chosen to develop deep expertise in one thing. If a Swedish, deep tissue, or hot stone massage from your RMT is already part of your routine, or you get cupping or acupuncture from another practitioner, it all fits comfortably alongside my work.
-
I suggest caution with foot reflexology if you have diabetes, varicose veins, open sores or an infection on your feet, or if you're healing from a foot injury or surgery. In those situations we simply switch to hand reflexology and you keep all the benefits. If you're pregnant or managing a chronic condition, tell me, and check with your doctor first so I can adapt your treatment safely.
-
It may ease the discomfort. Applying light pressure to the feet supports circulation and can help you manage chronic pain in stiff joints; many of my older clients tell me their joints feel looser and walking feels easier after a treatment. Reflexology won't reverse arthritis, and it complements your doctor's care rather than replacing it, but as a gentle, non-invasive therapy, it's well worth a try.
-
Cortisol climbs when stress hangs around too long, and clients dealing with anxiety or periods of depression sometimes ask me this. I can't measure hormones, and I won't promise a treatment will change them. What a session reliably does is promote relaxation, easing your body into "rest and digest" mode, and most people leave feeling noticeably calmer. If quieting everyday stress is one of your goals, that hour on the table is a good place to start.
-
You'll feel relaxed after your very first treatment. Deeper shifts, like steadier sleep, smoother digestion, or less chronic tension, tend to develop over three to six sessions as the benefits of this therapy build on each other. Every body responds in its own way, so we'll watch how yours answers and adjust as we go. Regular visits, as part of a wider wellness routine, help you achieve results that last.
-
It might. Reflexology is often used to help manage symptoms of PMS, and some clients time their sessions to the harder days of their cycle. A treatment can relieve tension, calm the nervous system, and support hormonal balance, though PMS shows up differently for everyone. Think of it as a comforting therapy that sits alongside your regular medical care.
