Reflexology for Erin, Ontario
Looking for a Registered Reflexologist near Erin? I'm Jen Wrixon, RRPr, in Guelph, about 30 minutes down the road.
I'd love to give you an hour that puts you back together. Come see me at Guelph Reflexology!
Erin loves Guelph Reflexology, Too!
I'm not in Erin. My treatment room is at 15 Surrey St W in Guelph, roughly a half-hour drive for most of Erin and Hillsburgh.
People tell me they make that trip anyway because it’s worth it. The experience of seeing a dedicated reflexologist is so different from getting a foot treatment in between other services. If that’s what you’ve noticed, too, I’ve got you taken care of.
So locals make the drive, the same way my clients come in from Puslinch, Cambridge, Fergus, or Elora.
Why see a Registered Reflexologist?
RRPr stands for Registered Reflexology Practitioner. I’m certified and in good standing with the Reflexology Registration Council of Ontario (RRCO), with training that began in 2005. And I’ve been helping people unwind ever since. The RRPr designation is recognized across Canada and by many insurers.
Reflexology is all I do, so your treatment goes at your pace and is customized for what your feet show me that day.
What reflexology can do for you
Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive therapeutic technique. It involves applying specific pressure to reflex points on the feet, hands, or ears; these points correspond to different organs and body systems. In other words, stimulating reflex areas can promote overall health and enable the body to rebalance itself.
Treatment promotes balance and circulation in the body in a natural way, which means it’s safe for children, expectant mothers, and older patients.
People come to me to:
Get relief from pain, including tension headaches and backaches
Reduce stress and anxiety
Improve circulation through their entire body
Settle their digestion
Sleep more deeply
Relieve tension and increase energy levels
Feel steadier, head to foot
Reflexology is a complementary therapy that is meant to be used alongside conventional medical care.
It doesn’t replace your doctor, massage therapy, or chiropractic care, but it does work beautifully with all of them to help you find whole-body health and balance. Please note I don’t diagnose or treat conditions. If you’d like more information first, my complete guide to reflexology covers the details.
Guelph Reflexology Services
Reflexology treatments may be eligible for your extended health insurance plan when a Registered Reflexology Practitioner provides them. After every session, I give you a detailed receipt showing my name, RRPr designation, and RRCO registration number. Plans vary, so it’s worth checking before you come.
-
My signature treatment: sixty minutes of careful pressure on the reflexes of your feet, with effects that carry through the entire body.
-
The same benefits with your shoes on, working the matching points through the hands. A good choice for sensitive or ticklish feet, a foot injury, or personal preference.
-
Gentle, adapted sessions for expectant mothers, new moms, and mamas with little ones in tow.
What to expect on your first visit
Your first appointment runs 75 minutes, so we can talk before we begin. We’ll discuss your health, what brought you in for reflexology, and what you’re hoping to change. Regular sessions after that are 60 or 90 minutes, whichever suits you.
You’ll stay fully clothed on a comfortable padded table with a pillow tucked under your knees, while I work one foot at a time and keep the other wrapped in a warm towel. Everything about the room is built to promote relaxation, and the pressure always stays comfortable. Most people go somewhere deeply still, and now and then someone nods off entirely, which I choose to take as a personal compliment.

Questions about reflexology Erin clients ask me
-
Not through the soles of your feet. Your liver and kidneys handle detox, and they’re good at their jobs.
What working the reflexology points does is improve circulation, which helps your body deliver oxygen and move waste along on its own schedule.
A glass of water afterward supports that work. (It's also a habit I recommend either way.)
-
Your first appointment is 75 minutes; regular treatments run 60 or 90 minutes, which is longer than with some other providers, where sessions typically last 30 to 60 minutes.
As for how many weeks or months, that depends on you and your health goals. Some people book weekly through a rough stretch. Others come in monthly to hold their balance. Together we’ll work to land on a rhythm that fits.
The effects tend to build, so consistency beats intensity.
-
Most people leave feeling relaxed or energized. (Sometimes both in the same afternoon!)
Many of my clients report their best sleep in weeks that night.
A few patients experience temporary foot tenderness or mild lightheadedness, which passes quickly.
Over a series of visits, the common thread I hear is more energy and vitality, and aches and pain that quiet down enough that you forget about them.
-
No. A chiropractic clinic looks after structure and alignment from the outside; orthotics do similar work inside your shoes.
My work starts at the reflex points and reaches inward, so the knee and back complaints that bring people to a chiropractor often coexist with the stress and sleep troubles that bring them to me.
Reflexology pairs well with chiropractic care, orthotics, and massage therapy; between all of us, your whole body gets looked after.
-
Yes. It’s gentle enough for children, pregnant mothers, and grandparents, and I adjust the pressure to each person.
If feet are “off the table” (pun intended) because of an injury, a foot condition, or ticklishness, we can work on the hands for the same benefits.
Helping an entire household settle, from toddlers to great-grandmothers, is one of my favourite parts of this work.
-
Many extended plans cover Massage Therapy and Chiropractic Care; you might find yours covers reflexology treatments, too.
However, reflexology is not regulated under the RHPA (Regulated Health Professionals Act) so check with your insurance provider.
-
Current evidence does not support the idea that reflexology can cure diseases. Reflexology should never replace medical care for diagnosed illnesses.
As a therapeutic technique, it can improve comfort for symptoms like tension headaches and backaches, and sessions reliably reduce stress and anxiety by calming the nervous system.
Twenty years in, that’s exactly what my patients keep returning for.
